Longarm Quilting Projects

I love everything about the longarm quilting process… searching for patterns, picking the fabric, cutting the pieces, sewing the quilt top, finding the perfect quilting pattern, quilting the blanket, and oh yes the hand binding!  I love to hand bind, when kids are in bed and my favorite show is on. I can relax in my favorite chair and finally finish a process that started weeks ago. Something satisfying about seeing a project come together, with final touches from me. It’s the best of both worlds, the perfect stitches from a computer generated longarm quilter and the personal touch of binding by hand. It’s a piece of me that I can leave to my kids, family, and friends. It is so satisfying to see one of my kids cuddle up with a blanket that I have made.

You can see from the picture above there are so many projects I am excited for! If only I could sit and sew and quilt all day.

There is ombre, the transitions of color in quilts is very stunning. So many bright colors that pop against the white background.  So many fun patterns. I have a couple of quilts planned using the ombre fabric that I can’t wait to share once they are done. I will keep you posted!

And minky, a love hate relationship.  Patience with minky is worth the struggle. Its like that teenage daughter, difficult at first, hard to work with, but the result is amazing.  Minky can cause a lot of trouble, but it is very forgiving at the end.  Longarm quilting comes out beautifully when using minky on any blanket as a backing.  Kids love the soft feel.  Quilters love the definition of pattern that shows through.  My favorite moment is rolling the quilt or pulling it off the machine and seeing the beautiful pattern show through. Amazing!

A whole lot of Moda! I love Moda!  I could buy it by the bolt. They have amazing designers.  I go to the fabric store and admire it with the workers. They once locked the door and flipped the sign while we looked at the new line coming out and talked about projects we wanted to do.  Moda will cause a stack of projects with little time.  You don’t go into a fabric store to look at Moda if you have unfinished projects.  Just like you don’t go shopping hungry. You’ll just end up buying way too much.

And finally a Harry Potter blanket my daughter can’t wait for (and that is putting it mildly). Hers will be made in to a triangle quilt from a pattern by Quilty Love (she has fantastic patterns).

I love my longarm quilting machine and the projects and possibilities it gives me.  So satisfying to see the finished blanket and watch your family and friends enjoy them! I would love to help you finish your projects!  Let me help you start by offering 40 percent of quilting service for all new customers.
